Independence Day 2016

As  America celebrated Independence Day 2016, the two hundredth year of her independence, her people stood at a Crossroad that will define the future of America; the America that has been the envy of peoples and nations throughout the known world, will either be blessed based upon her repentance and returned to God or condemned because of her denial of God and her choice to live as slaves to idols of immorality, worldliness, greed and corruption. My question is, “Which road (Crossroad or Path) will America and her people choose?”

The Crossroad is not whether or not Hillary or Donald wins this coming Presidential election. In reality, it really will not matter which one wins as the “die has been cast;” America’s government and her people have strayed from her founders’ ideals as later expressed by Abraham Lincoln, “A government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.” Our great nation and its people have chosen to walk in the humanistic desires of wanton pleasure “doing what each desires in their own hearts.” America and her people have denied the Creator God, and the survival of America’s representative democracy hangs in the balance.

The future for the world, however, has already been laid out in the prophecies found in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. Jesus Christ at His Second Coming will rule the earth with a “rod of iron.” The evil that we presently know will no longer exist, and there will no longer be Democratic, Republican or Libertarian political parties of self-interest.

Those of us of who lived (my opinion) through the “best of times,” the 1940’s and 1950’s, were fortunate to learn the truth of America’s founding history and to have studied the writings found in America’s founding documents. Sadly, this generational group is slowly fading away. It is unfortunate that those who lived during this period, I include myself, allowed through their silence, the years to pass without passing the torch of liberty and freedom to their children and grandchildren. But, it is still not too late to begin teach our families the true values of a Godly America; but that teaching must begin today. Why not start today by reading The Declaration of Independence.

America was founded as a Christian Nation—a Nation of morality, integrity, public prayer and a belief in the Creator God of the Bible. The liberal progressive left would have you to believe otherwise. Read for yourself the Godly inscriptions that can still be found written on / in the buildings and monuments in our Nation’s capital, before those who are trying to transform America’s Republic into a godless, secular, humanistic governmental “system” with a common pigsty trough from which all will feed to erase them. The America I knew is gone—gone forever unless spiritual repentance comes!

Yes, I personally believe it is too late for repentance from America’s current plight of immorality, godlessness, greed, sexual and materialistic lust, Executive, Legislative and Judicial corruption (How can those who hold elected positions in public office claim Christianity and remain silent to all that has gone on in the public and private arenas?), apostate houses of religion, human sacrifice in the abortion mills and a judicial ruling that marriage can be other than between one man and one woman. There is no doubt that there are others that could be listed, but I will stop as I am beginning to become angry (that would be righteous anger) and cry out the line, “I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore,” from an old 1976 film entitled, NETWORK, staring Howard Beale; visit, http://en.m.wikiquote.org for more information.

So here we are at The Crossroad that I would like for all to understand; It is time for those who are professing Christians to step outside their “institutions of faith” and tell others of the Hope in which they live? This is America’s only hope for a future of liberty and true justice for all. But first, to step out you need to know your real standing in Christ Jesus? Consider the following questions:

  1.  Are you truly saved and know it?

2.   Do you profess salvation but in your heart are not sure?

3.   Do you think you are saved but have no proof?

If God’s elect—those who are indwelled by His Holy Spirit, read and meditate upon His Word (the Bible), pray and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit—will escape from their closets of silence, God may listen and change the hearts of America and in turn, America’s future. Otherwise, there is no future for America and her people. By the way, question number 1, above, was the answer that was sought.

The God of the bible only listens to the voice of His sheep (His Bride, the Church). His gift of salvation is free and was paid for by the blood of His Son, Jesus. There are no works that you need to do to earn salvation. It is a gift.

If you are of another religion, you should continue to worship your god and do the things he or she commands of you, unless of course, the God of the Bible calls you to Him.

My words are given in LOVE. As the saying goes, “Love the sinner but hate the sin.” After all, we were all born with the humanistic sin nature. Only by being born again—spiritual rebirth—can you find the newness of life and no longer be a captive to the sins of the flesh.

Before you past judgment on me please consider the following: I am not anyone’s judge nor is this Blog an attempt to discredit you or your religion. I consider the contents of my writings and myself to be non-judgmental.  I do not discriminate nor do I believe or condone any acts of discrimination against any person no matter what race, sex, color, national origin, ethnicity, religion, age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, Veteran status or any other status or condition protected by law.

While my policy statement reflects my non-discriminatory ethical belief, I do believe I should be allowed to exercise my freedom to speak and my freedom of religion (Biblical Christianity) without prejudicial judgment, just as I believe you also should be allowed the same freedom. I just want to tell you about Jesus, and the love He alone can give to you if you will only come to Him as He calls.

America must turn in true repentance to her Judeo-Christian heritage and belief in the Creator God of the Bible, or face the future of God’s wrath. That is the Crossroad where I believe America presently stands. Which road will America travel, and which road will you be on?

Those are my comments for today. I would love to hear from you. Please comment.

I am not a proponent of today’s secular, humanistic Politically Correctness doctrine, I do not believe in the COEXIST bumper sticker that pacifists whiners place on their cars and their view that we should all “just get along,” nor do I believe in the “Global Community Socialist / Communist” doctrines, “Diversity Quotas,” “Social Justice retributions,” “Participation Trophies,” “Darwinian Evolution,” liberal judges with their own agendas, and too many other doctrines and agendas of the extreme progressive liberal left and elitist proponents of the Godless Democratic Party that are not in keeping with America’s Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Can you hide from EVIL?

Where can you hide from the LOONS? You are faced with them every day. They are the talking heads of network media and their consultants, newspaper editorial writers, opinion writers, letter to the editor writers, Internet blog writers and commentators, and many others. Most are just fools. Some are even crazy. Some are even profound in recognizing truth. I’m probably one, but which one is still up for debate.

It is unfortunate, as I see it, that the Millennium generation and maybe the generation preceding them see all that is going on around them as normal and acceptable behavior. Those of older generations, the forties and fifties of the last century, see a changing world that is returning to the “old sins” the Creator God of the Universe cautioned would bring disease, death, and fruitless lives of unending futility (At least those who claim Biblical Christianity are aware of these changes.)

When mankind is left to make up the rules of morality, there are no limits to the depths of degradation a society will fall. I just read that a court ruling in Canada legalized sexual acts with animals as long as there was no penetration. WHAT? Maybe I got that wrong, but it is not out of the realm of possibility that a “court” might make such a ruling. I find it sickening, and if you don’t, all I can say is: Shame! Shame! Shame!

Immoralities have abounded since the beginning of time. Human sacrifice and immoralities were forbidden by God’s Law for His people and recorded in the biblical book of Leviticus (among others). Among the many recorded I’ll list these few: //Note: formatting problems were encountered in the following numbering.  Do you best to decipher. Sorry!//

  1. Sex with animals was punishable by death in the Biblical writings found in the Book Leviticus. “If there is a man who lies with an animal, he shall surely be put to death; you shall also kill the animal. If there is a woman who approaches any animal to mate with it, you shall kill the woman and the animal; they shall surely be put to death,” Leviticus 20:15-16.

As God lead the Hebrew’s from Egypt to the promise land, He was setting aside a people, who practiced “the sins of Egypt,” for a new beginning; they were to be a holy people with moral and ethical principles as they traveled to the land of Canaan—a land populated by pagan idol worshippers and practitioners of gross immorality; people groups, who in their religious practices, ordained temple prostitutes, both male and female, to serve in the worship of their gods.

I have first hand knowledge from sources that have witnessed a woman having sex with a donkey or a donkey having sex with a woman, whichever way you want to look at it so there is no denial, in my mind, that such immorality exists. What about the news story of the man, I believe in Texas, who had sexual penetration (anal intercourse) by a horse. It resulted in his death due to a ruptured intestine. We indeed are living in a sick society.
2) Sacrificing offspring (children) to Molech, a god of the Ammonites, was an act of worship by pagan cultures centuries ago and was condemned by God. The Ammonites were an ancient Semitic empire, older than the Egyptians, Babylonians and Hittites; all occupying Palestine and Syria before other nations; Dictionary-Concordance-Thesaurus to the Old and New Testaments, New American Standard. In their worship services they offered sacrifices of children by fire. Leviticus 18:21; 1 King 11:17; Jeremiah 32:35.

Today’s America promotes abortions as an acceptable way of birth control. Can you hear the cries of the unborn as they are torn from the womb of their mothers suffering pain liken to that of being “sacrificed on a molten stone?” The sacrificial offerings of the ancient pagans were perhaps methods of birth control; a cruel and barbaric behavior. The cruelty is still the same. How will women (men are guilty participants in fathering a child), as individuals, justify their acts when they face the Creator God of the Universe? Please note: God can forgive. When you turn to Him from your sins, they will be blotted out and remembered no more. If you have had an abortion, God can forgive and heal you, “…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23.

3) Family Incest between aunts, uncles, sisters, sisters-in-laws, mothers, mothers-in-laws, fathers, father-in-law, and other blood relatives are described as relationships abhorrent, disgraceful, and detestable acts of immorality. See Leviticus 18, 19 and 20. Practices such as these are still going on in today’s world. I know of examples and more than likely you do too. Open your eyes American “Christian.”
4) “Intercourse between two males as a male lies with a female is an abomination”, Leviticus 18:22 paraphrased. America has accepted the LIE that homosexuality is a normal and respectable “god approved” lifestyle; a lifestyle of choice in my opinion. Regardless of man’s differing opinions, it is a fact that know diseases—AIDS, anal warts, gonorrhea, syphilis and other STD’s— will infect many who have sexual relations with partners that are unknown to them that have practiced “unprotected” homosexual activities. Diseases also affect adulterers and heterosexuals who engage in sexually immoral activities so I am not just singling out homosexuals.

I’m telling you folks, sexual immorality of all kinds lead to terrible health consequences that were known thousands of years ago. Man’s humanistic spirit will just not recognize known facts.
5) “Do not turn to mediums or spiritists; do not seek them out to be defiled by them, I am the Lord your God,” Leviticus 19:31. Are you a cultural Christian who claims to love Jesus but denies His deity and Power but at the same time believes in the “spirituality” of prayer? You claim you have love for God, but you do not have holiness for Him; God is given an hour or two on your day of worship but no more. Do you give more thought to your daily horoscope than you do to God’s Word (Bible reading and meditation)? Most do as evidenced by the many dust covered Bibles of today’s cultural Christians. The Bible is the Christian’s guidebook and roadmap and must be read and studied.
6) If there is a man who commits adultery with another man’s wife, one who commits adultery with his friend’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death,” Leviticus 20:10. This is a practiced that is going on in today’s world.

The people of ancient times—pagan cultures—were physically and mentally impure and laden with diseases that caused death, deformation, blindness and other ailments—physical and mental “diseases” resulting from their immorality practices.

When God brought the Hebrew children out of Egypt, He established standards by which His people were to live. These standards were for the purification of the race. The Hebrew’s were forbidden to associate with the pagan societies they would encounter as they walked toward the Promised Land. Unfortunately, the people chose to disobey God’s Laws and all under the age of twenty died without entering the Promised Land.

God, the Creator God of the Bible, set the standards by which mankind should live. Man in his arrogance and stupidity throughout the centuries has frequently chosen to live by his, man’s standards, and not Gods. America has played the fool and is now condoning immorality standards not in keeping with those established by God. America and her people will fall to God’s wrath and suffer the consequences of immorality and materialistic idol worship.

What will be your testimony of life on your judgment day? Look at the created world around you; life did not evolve from a cesspool of muck. Darwinian evolution is a lie and there are no scientific facts to support his thesis. Do your own research. I suggest you start with reviewing the work published at www.creation.com/.

I know my words are for naught for those who do not believe in the Creator God of the Bible. As Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes 1: 9, “That which has been is that which will be, And that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun.” Man will either accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior or they will not. So be it.

Those are my thoughts for the day. What are yours?

Memorial Day, A Day of Remembrance.

Memorial Day 5/30/2016:

Today should be a day and time of remembrance. A time when we should reflect upon those who gave their lives for their country. I entered the Army at the age of seventeen and served three years’ active duty (1960-1963) with two years in what I refer to as paradise—the Canal Zone in Panama.  I have never looked upon my time in the military as something extraordinary that needs to be publicly honored (that is just me), but I am proud to have served my country in this way.

It is sad and disgusting that some, the atheists, Socialist and Progressive Democrats of the “humanistic kind,” are asking for Veteran Memorials to be destroyed because some may feature a cross. It is a shameful trend that unfortunately many millenniums support out of ignorance—their grandparents and parents did not instruct them to be patriotic or worst, not to believe in God, His Son and the Holy Spirit.  All who value America and their freedom should stand, fight and defend our home land as our Founders and Patriots have stood over the centuries.

Today’s Ponderings:

// This was an email to  those in my contact list. I have also chosen to add this to my blog page since I will be blogging on my current medical condition in a week or so. //

Hello to all. Today’s thoughts are for my brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ and for all my friends, some of whom are asking to be removed from my mailing list because of my stance for Biblical Christianity. As always, if this email reaches you in error or you no longer wish to receive emails from me, simple reply (be sure to reply to sender and not group) with “remove” in the subject line.  You will be removed with no questions asked.

Please remember that I do not forward emails from others. If you receive an email from me asking you to click on a link, do not do so as it is spam.  Also, I reply to all emails I receive that require a response.  At times, due to the spam messages that are screened out, I may not see an email from you.  I do breeze through my spam and junk folders on occasions looking for names of those I desire to remain in contact with.  So, if you do not get a reply and expect one, send me another email because I simply missed your email.  Thanks!

Now for today’s thoughts related to my current medical “condition.” Two months ago I suddenly became unable to walk any distance without my legs feeling as though I had fifty-pound weights for shoes.  One day I was able to climb stairs, run or take a brisk walk.  The next day I was limited in what I could do.  My “condition” has gradually worsened and to walk now I need the use of a cane. A walker may be next and if required, the “deluxe mobile chair with backup camera and a motorcycle style seating for two.”

My primary care physician suggested I see a Vascular Surgeon.  After having ultrasounds on my legs and a CT-Scan on my mid-section, my insurance company (I am an xxxxx retiree and xxxxx is my insurance company) was reluctant to schedule this test but finally conceded). Results of these tests revealed  no cause for my symptoms.  The Vascular doctor was almost certain that I had a blocked aorta given that my description of my walking condition fit all the “signs” of a blocked aorta.  While I did have severe plaque buildup in many blood vessels, none were acute, as in restrictive. However, on going monitoring , every six months, will be required.

An appointment was made with my heart doctor, and a nuclear stress test was ordered.  My last nuclear test, which was made approximately two years ago, found that three of my heart vessels were closed.  In 1997 I had bypass surgery and received six graphs—that’s a lot.  Since that time I have had two events (mild heart problems some call heart attacks). Twice cardiac cauterization was attempted, but my vessels were too small to stint or open. To make a long story short, I presently take sixteen medications daily to control “my heart condition.”  Up to this point I was able to do any and everything that I desired to do with no physical limitations.

Through it all I have had no pain and no “extreme” shortness of breath except for my 1997 event. Extreme is when you walk a few steps and have to sit down to catch your breath; I now do get winded when climbing steps or going up an incline. Because I am not having extreme shortness of breath my insurance company will not give their approval for the stress test.  That’s really OK by me because around fifteen percent of the people who undergo this test have a heart attack in the process of testing (my estimate based upon people I have talked with).   Nothing happens to me by chance so I look upon the cancelled test as a “God thing”.

I am told by doctors that a pinched nerve (remember I have no pain) can cause the condition in which I am experiencing except in most cases pain is involved.  A visit to my chiropractor (insurance does not cover) ruled out a pinched nerve in my back.  But, there may be a nerve condition somewhere that is causing me to gradually lose my ability to walk “the straight and narrow path” physically. There is a joke here somewhere, I think.

Not to let time pass in finding a diagnosis, I next saw a Neurology doctor who found in his examination that I could not walk a straight line, could not stand without the assistance of a cane, chair or some object to hold. I already knew that, but he does have expertise beyond what my limited (TV watching) medical skills would reveal.  He suspects that I have some condition that is squeezing a nerve or some “brain related issue.”  He has scheduled three MRI’s for this coming Wednesday.  There is the possibility that the test may be cancelled entirely or postponed temporarily by my insurance company so we will wait and see.

This year I will turn seventy-four and my wife and I will have been married fifty years (on June 26th).  Jokingly, for the past year, I would remind my wife that I felt that I could give her fifty “good years.” She would always reply with, “Let me know when those fifty years are going to begin.” This, the uncertainty of what is wrong, is harder on her than it has been on me because I know everything will work out as God intends it to be.

Many people are praying for me, and I appreciate their prayers.  As of yet, I have not felt the need to pray for healing for myself.  Why?  First, I would like to find out all about my “condition.”  Then, I will ask God to heal me if it is in His will to do so.  Whatever may come, I know that I can adapt and adjust my life style to accommodate whatever awaits me.

Yesterday in my prayer time I was thinking of you. Yes, each one of you individually.  I would like to pass the words below to you and ask that you mediate upon them.  If God speaks to you, I would ask you to acknowledge His words and follow them.

I Lifted You in Prayer (1 Peter 5:7)

by Rose Zechman, Mature Living, March 1997

I met with God this morning,

And I lifted you in prayer;

I knew your heart was heavy

With burdens and with care.

Your path may seem so lonely,

Your heart weighted down with

Care, God promises to help you,

Just go to Him in prayer.

His grace is all sufficient,

He’ll comfort you, my friend,

Just give Him all your burdens,

On Him you can depend.

Depend upon His mercy,

He waits to help you through,

So cast your care upon Him,

For He careth for you.

In January I gave up my “Santa Billy” character.  I sensed that I would not be able to play Santa this coming year, and it would be time for me to move on to my next calling. It is amazing how the Holy Spirit has led me throughout my entire life; at times I did not even realize it.

If you are interested in my calling, you can learn more at: www.theindwelling.com.  I also blog at: www.spirit.theindwelling.org and twitter at: www.twitter.com/closetchristian.

I will be blogging about “my condition” beginning sometime in the next week or so.  That is, if it turns out to be more severe than just a simple pinched nerve.  Thank you for being a friend.   No response is necessary.

Your friend in Christ.

Christian, are you working as a full-time or as a part-time disciple of Jesus Christ?

Christian, are you a full-time servant of Jesus or are you working part-time? Or, perhaps you are not working at all.  Every Bible believing, born-again, Spirit filled Christian should be a full time disciple of their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

This is not to say that a disciple of Jesus should be in a full time vocational job such as a minister, missionary, choir director and etc.  But, your life is to be a testimony to the saving Grace you experienced at your redemption. If in your everyday life you cannot be identified as a Christian by your walk, you have not totally surrendered your humanistic self-will to God’s Holy Spirit.

We are told that you will know Jesus’ followers and disciples by the “fruit of the Spirit,” Galatians 5:22-23. These “fruits” of the Spirit are: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Peacefulness, Gentleness and Self-control.  Do you have this fruit and are they shown consistently in your day-to-day life?

Now, you will never be perfect nor will you as a man perfectly display all the fruit of the Spirit until Jesus takes you home.  Take King David for example.  David—the slayer of the Philistine giant Goliath—was loved by God, but David committed adultery with Bathsheba and had her husband, Uriah—a devoted soldier to David—, murdered in order to possess her. David was rebuked by Nathan, the Prophet, and forgiven by God; however,  David had to live with the consequences of his actions for the remainder of his life, and they were not good.  You can read about his life in 2nd Samuel 11 and 12.

Jesus called you to come out of the materialistic world physically and spiritually.  All true born-again believers are indwelled by the Holy Spirit and are no longer to be of this world by practicing or giving approval to the humanistic acts of “sexual immorality, impurity, debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies and the like,” Galatians 5:19-21. “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires,” Galatians 5:24.

Let’s look at the indwelling of the Holy Spirit for a moment because the “indwelling” is not intuitively, from a humanistic standpoint, understood by casual Christians (not true believers) and many “main-line,” denominational church leaders.  God does not need a man-made church or temple in which to dwell (read Isaiah 66 for insight).  After all, God is the creator of everything so if He needed a dwelling place He would build (create) His own.  God is the living God. He is not some man-made idol of gold or silver.

In God’s righteousness He chose to dwell within man, and by His indwelling man would become God’s Temple. For the disciple and follower of Jesus Christ, assurances are given in biblical scriptures.  I’ll list several:

  • “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is sacred, and you are that temple,” 1st Corinthians 3:16.
  • “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price.  Therefore honor God with your body,” 1st Corinthians 6: 19.
  • “What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols?  For we are the temple of the living God.  As God has said: ‘I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people,” 2nd Corinthians 6:16.
  • “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit,” Galatians 5:24-25.
  • “The One (God) that is in you is greater than the one (Satan) who is in the world, paraphrased from “1st John 4:4.

Followers of Jesus Christ will have a testimony, and they should be prepared at all times to: “…in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.  Bu do this with gentleness and respect, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander” (1 Peter 3:15).

There is a “KEY” that anyone who has been called to become a follower of Jesus Christ must have.  That key is to: 1) acknowledge sin in your life, 2) ask for forgiveness, 3) repent / turn away from your sinful acts, 4) surrender to and obey the leading of the Holy Spirit that will indwell you, 5) deny your humanistic self-will, 6) live by faith and trust that God will do what He says He will do.

Jesus died for you, but He arose and is alive and is the mediator between you and God.  If you have not been indwelled by the Holy Spirit, you have not become a “Temple of God.”   If God’s Spirit does not dwell in you, you are lost in your sins and will not enter His eternal kingdom.

The Christian world celebrates Christ’s resurrection every year in what is called Resurrection Sunday.  Biblical Christians honor Him with their Body, Soul and Spiritual Heart.  Cultural Christians simply bring Him from “His Tomb” and return Him shortly thereafter to return to their true gods of worldly materialism and immorality.  Which one are you?

If you claim to be a follower of Jesus it is my prayer that you recognize that you are a “Temple of the Living God.”  If not, I pray that you will be moved by God to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and become a temple of the living God and indwelled by His Holy Spirit.

Lives are changed by Jesus.  Trust Him and find out for yourself.

Those are my comments for today.  How about you?

As a follower of Jesus Christ various biblical scriptures encourage you in many ways.  I will list a few that I recently made note of from a local TV ministry:

  • “Contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints,” Jude 1:3;
  • Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teachings of Christ does not have God,” 2nd John 1:9;
  • “Our people (brethren and faithful followers) must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order that they may provide for daily necessities and not lead unproductive lives,” Titus 3:14;
  • “Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction,” 2nd Timothy 4:2;
  • “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness,” 2nd Timothy 2:19.

Resurrection Morning: What do you believe?

// The following mini-sermon is rather lengthy, but it is my heartfelt message to those who are “burdened and seeking rest” from the trials and tribulations of life. Jesus Christ can give you peace and rest for, “His yoke is easy and His burden is light and you will find rest for your soul,” Matthew 11:28-30 paraphrased. I have placed my mini-sermon on both my blog site (www.spirit.theindwelling.org) and my web site (www.theindwelling.com). It is my sincere hope that you will prayerfully read and if felt to respond will do so.  I enjoy reading testimonies and life journey stories of those who have found joy in their hearts through the acceptance of the Gospel Message.  All responses are considered confidential and will not be shared with anyone.  Thanks!  //

Resurrection Morning: What do you believe?

I am going to do some meddling in this my “Easter Message” for 2016 to all my beloved friends.  It is my hope that you will accept it in the spirit of love and not in the spirit of hate or bigotry.

As Christians throughout the world pause to celebrate Easter or Resurrection Sunday (the resurrection of Jesus Christ), the majority will simply remove Jesus Christ from His tomb for a moment of remembrance while the minority will faithfully worship and proclaim Him as their risen Savior. For those who do not yet claim or possess Him, now would be a good time to consider Jesus’ deity and His offer of forgiveness of sin and His promise of eternal life before you once more returned Jesus to His tomb for “another year of rest?”

On many occasions I have been privileged to hear the testimonies of Foreign Missionaries and stories of how their fears were removed once they surrendered totally to the Holy Spirit.  To be afraid is a natural human emotion that all experience.  I was ashamed and afraid to share my testimony for an extended period of time in my life while professing to myself that I was a “born again Christian.” I refer to that time as my closet Christian period and use www.twitter.com/closetchristian as my twitter account login to remind myself of that time.  One day my eyes were opened, and I could see His light shining through the cracks around my closet door. I opened my door and allowed Jesus Christ to enter and life has not been the same since.

I can testify that you will remain afraid to publicly proclaim the name of Jesus as long as you seek to witness in the reliance of your own human power. But, there is a better way, and that way is to let the Holy Spirit within you be your guide and confidant.  Today my testimony is simply this: Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, died on a Roman cross for my sins and was resurrected from death, and will one-day return to take me to my heavenly home. My Journey has been long and to tell of my journey takes time. However, my journey is not my testimony, but only the pathway I have trod through life. I have written extensively about my pathway of life and use my journey experiences as the Holy Spirit directs.

But before we continue, it would be helpful if you profess to be a Christian to answer the following questions (Be honest with yourself and with God): Is Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior?  Was your life changed when you accepted the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ? Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you accepted the Gospel Message? If you received the Holy Spirit, have you surrendered your self-will and are you allowing the Holy Spirit to impart to you wisdom, knowledge and spiritual guidance?  Have you had an encounter with the Holy Spirit that changed your life? If the answer is “NO” to each question or to any question for that matter, you may want to reconsider your salvation experience—it may have been an emotional experience rather than a life changing born again salvation experience.

Every believer that accepts the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ receives the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.  Unfortunately, many new Christians are never told explicitly how the Holy Spirit’s indwelling is manifested in their lives and therefore never claim His awesome power.  You may be a new Christian or a “seasoned Christian veteran in longevity,” but you may lack spiritual power and have been or are presently ineffective because you were never discipled.  That is, you were never taught how to accept, recognize or hear the various mediums used by the Holy Spirit and spiritually claim His power.

Whether you are a relatively new or older Christian in your walk, it is not too late to return and find forgiveness and to allow the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit’s indwelling to change the dynamics of your life from relying on your human nature and its frailties to relying solely upon the Holy Spirit.  Repentance and revival can refresh a stale or non-active spiritual relationship.

Start your new journey by rededicating your life to Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ alone.  Then, pray with confidence that God hears you and that God will answer your prayers.   Praying is simply talking to God.  You can do it anytime and anyplace and the more you do the more it will become second nature to you.  Once you begin your prayer life in earnest you’ll always be “twittering in prayer” with God through the indwelling of His Holy Spirit.    Do not do all the talking but learn to listen; listening for God’s revealing moments is learned by practice.  As a new Christian or as a seasoned veteran, God’s indwelling will not take you where you have not been prepared to go or to where the “situation” may not have been prepared in advance (By prayer and the working of the Holy Spirit) for your coming.

One of the more important aspects of your preparation must also include Bible study.  One must absorb the scriptures and dwell upon them.  The Holy Spirit will not only use passages from your Bible reading and study to direct, comfort, instill wisdom and knowledge, but He will also bring to your mind remembrances and examples of how to live a righteous life.

There are probably endless ways in which the Holy Spirit interacts with true followers of Jesus Christ.  God’s Spirit works within the boundaries of your human abilities although supernatural abilities may be given as the Spirit determines for the situation at hand—personal indwelling or church ministry calling perhaps.

The personal indwelling aspect is simply the Holy Spirit working within each believer to conform them, through the Sanctification process, to becoming more like Christ.  The church ministry callings—teachers, ushers, deacons, and so forth—are supernatural “talents” or perhaps existing natural abilities in leadership skills made available to build the body of Christ—the Church—on earth.  Scriptures teach that within the body of Christ believers are given spiritual gifts to accomplish the mission He sets forth.  You can read about these spiritual gifts in Corinthians.  Christians will be given these gifts as the Spirit so discerns.  Just as each individual is indwelled by the Holy Spirit each church is also indwelled by Holy Spirit filled believers (individuals) and the Holy Spirit Himself who implants the mission ordained for them by God.

Church groups are not good at helping their members recognize their spiritual gifts that are to be used within their church fellowship.  They generally confine their help in the form of Spiritual Gift Questionnaires that seek to identify “gifts” based upon input from those completing questionnaires.  It would be my suggestion to let God identify your abilities to you rather than depending upon questionnaires that are to some extent biased toward the human attributes rather than the spiritual.  In other words, your human nature is prone to exaggerate or deemphasize traits as they seek to self-identify areas of opportunity that they either want to do or chose not to do.

God speaks through the Holy Spirit in many ways.  In my case, I may be merrily working away when suddenly an inner voice suddenly but gently says, “Speak!”  Speak to the situation at hand in other words.  For instance, you may be in a grocery line, in a group meeting, or sitting silently reading when you hear a command that might take the form of a sudden prodding to engage someone in conversation, call someone on the phone or stop what you are doing and start doing what your inner voice tells you to do—maybe immediate prayer for someone.  Do not simply dismiss the thought or talk yourself out of doing what has been commanded.  Step out in faith and simply do what the Spirit was leading you to do.  As you train yourself in listening you will began to recognize the Spirits interactions and become better able to discern between the Holy Spirit and worldly spirits.

Believers are reminded to test the spirits that manifest themselves.  If you are ever wooed to follow or accept a principal outside the teachings of Biblical Scriptures (the Bible), do not follow the spirit’s lead as it is a deceptive spirit of Satan.  As you positively respond to the Holy Spirit and learn to distinguish unholy spirits, you will begin to listen more intently and with purpose and more importantly, you will learn to listen to the True Spirit of God.  Ultimately you will be drawn closer to God in Spirit and in Truth.

Another way the Spirit may speak is through the interpretation or recalling of Biblical scriptures as described earlier. You may be reading from the Bible when a scripture you may have read many times suddenly takes on a new meaning, to you, that reveals a spiritual revelation or interpretation of a once unclear scripture.  However, before scriptures can be brought to your mind, you have to have actually been a reader of the Bible.  How many Christians fail to study the scriptures much less even read from their Bibles on a routine basis?  As has been written by other authors, the Bible is the Christian’s roadmap that contains wisdom and knowledge of both the spiritual and physical aspect of life.  Of course, the Bible will just be another book to those who have not been drawn to Christ.

It is impossible for me to list all the ways the Holy Spirit may speak to an individual.  While we are all unique in our mental and physical attributes, the Holy Spirit will speak in terms that anyone who has claimed the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ can understand.  It may be that an unsettling restlessness within you may be the Holy Spirits means of getting your attention or drawing you to a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.  As you learn to exercise your Godly Spirit it will become stronger and stronger until one day you will be truly walking with God in your daily life.  I think this is what Paul had in mind when he wrote that believers should work out their salvation.

It is being reported that many Muslims are coming to Christ as a result of dreams they have where the Jesus of the Bible calls upon them on a personal level.  You may experience a similar encounter with God—God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.  Never underestimate the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit.  However, do not fall prey to “New Age” type movements that seek to invoke or call up spirits that you can see and interact with on a spiritual plane that deny Jesus Christ and Biblical teachings.

Biblical Christians are called to proclaim the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ.  Silence is not an option for these Christians.  Their faith must be shared despite the possible loss of family members and friends.  At the final call—death—the only thing that will matter is whether Jesus Christ was declared to be Lord and Savior by you in your life.

Jesus Christ is the Biblical Christian’s High Priest.  Jesus is the only way to God, and Jesus is the only way to heaven (His proclamation, not mine).  If you claim there are other ways you may go to the “heaven of your god,” but you will not go to the heaven of the God of Biblical Scriptures—the Holy Bible.  The Christian Bible is of absolute no use (other than being a good moral code) to anyone who does not believe: (1) the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ—Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, crucified for your sins, died and raised from the grave—and (2) Jesus Christ is the only pathway to heaven.

So, what is your religious standing during this time when the resurrection of Jesus Christ is celebrated? Will you be taking Jesus out of His tomb for the day only to return Him until next year or will you, or have you, allowed Jesus to remain outside His tomb as the resurrected Son of God?

You may be reading this as a non-believer or you believe but have never publicly trusted Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of your life.  If you feel God dealing with your heart and soul and asking you to trust Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, step out in faith and accept Him. It is very easy to do and the following bullet points will tell you how:

  • Confess that you are outside the will of God and confess your sins to Him. “…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23 NIV.
  • Believe that God reconciled (You cannot appease God nor save yourself through good works because you deserve death for your transgressions.) you to Himself through the sacrificial death of His Son, Jesus Christ. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord,” Romans 6:23 NJV.
  • Believe and accept the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ—“…Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried and that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter and then to the Twelve.  After that he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep…, “  1 Corinthians 15:3-8 NIV.   “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved,” Romans 10:13.  “That if you will confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved,” Romans 10:9 NIV.
  • Accept God’s Grace and His Grace alone for the redemption of your soul and turn from your worldly life of sin and disobedience and walk in newness of life that will be available to you as you accept and allow the Holy Spirit to spiritually indwell, lead and comfort you all the days of your life.

Remember, by grace you are saved and not by good works, and the only pathway to heaven is by Jesus Christ and Him alone.  “For it is by grace you have been saved through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast,” Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV.

You must confess Him if you are to become His disciple.  “Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven.  But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown before my Father in heaven,” Matthew 10:32-33 NIV.

Please do not return Jesus to His tomb.  Earthly trials and tribulations will soon come and Jesus Christ will only guard your soul and spirit if you are His and His alone.  He may not choose to protect you from physical death if it is meant for you to die as a martyr for your testimony, but He will protect you from eternal spiritual death.

Write to me and tell me of you salvation experience and the testimony you will share with others.  It will help you to better understand how to share your “new spiritual birth in Jesus Christ.”

A new beginning for the spirit.theindwelling.org

Hello, my friends.

The “spirit.theindwelling.org” blog site is back online.  Nothing should have changed; however, all—as in everything—went away around the first of December.  I have only myself to blame.  Against my better judgment I trusted in a marketing sales pitch. Since I thought I was doing a simple upgrade I failed to verify, with technical support, “the actual upgrade process”. Trying to migrate from one web design package to a “newer and better” design from the same provider proved to be an “Obamacare experience.”

But, all is OK.  I have the companion web site back on line.  You can find it at: www.theindwelling.com  or www.theindwelling.org. It is not “newer or better,” but it works and that is all that is important. It is still in the construction / repair stage so be aware. The old blogs are no longer accessible on-line.  I do have a backup of all my blogs, but they are no longer available as file achieves.

I am encouraged that so many registered users are re-registering before I have made my first post. Yes, I also lost my registered user file (I have a hard copy) as part of the upgrade process.  My promise to my registered users remains the same: I will not contact or make available my user email addresses or names to anyone no matter what the reason or purpose. Why? I have many users in locations where Christianity is not tolerated or permitted, and I would never put anyone at risk to persecution.  However, I will answer emails that request a response, but I will not reveal the confidentiality of any correspondence.

Jesus said, “…I am the light of the world.  He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life,” John 8:12 NKJV. It is my prayer that you are walking in the light.

Let me hear from you.
